Abstract
Abstract: Exclusive breastfeeding is an important source of nutrition for babies. Breast milk is created according to the needs of a baby born to a mother. Exclusive breastfeeding is the process of giving baby food in the form of only breast milk without other additional food until the baby is 6 months old. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence mothers to give exclusive breastfeeding to infants aged 0-6 months. This study uses a quantitative approach, with a cross-sectional research design. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique with 100 mothers selected. Data was collected using a questionnaire given by interviewers between May and August 2021. The results showed that the knowledge factor (p value = 0.000,OR = 15.921); education (p value=0.281;OR=1.563); income (p value=0.004, OR=3.375); work (p value=0.000, OR=0.179); and attitude (p value=0.000, OR=14.609). In conclusion, there is influence of knowledge, income, occupation, and attitudes significantly related to exclusive breastfeeding in infants aged 0-6 months. Breastfeeding has an important effect in a child's life. Optimizing breastfeeding can be done by providing education and promotion to increase mother's knowledge, so that mothers have positive attitudes and behaviors in exclusive breastfeeding in infants aged 0-6 months.
